The goods on copyright

Building your website based on someone else’s images and content is a big no-no! Yes it is simple to copy and paste content from another website, but in time, you may be found out!

When thinking of content for your website, keep it original is the golden rule. This applies to images and content. Someone else’s animated banner will not work on your site, it’s their colors, it’s their message. 

SmashingMagazine.com recently published an excellent post on Copyright Explained where brief points are given on the various issues of copyright on the Internet, specifically for bloggers. This is a great starting point and should be reviewed when developing content for your website.
