Post to WordPress blog with Thunderbird email

Well this will be my first test post to this blog via email - pretty
cool and hopefully much simpler.
I’ve tried out various 3rd party applications that help your post to
your various blogs via email, but some were clunky to set up, some
actually used up too much resources, etc. Too much to manage.
Why not set up an email address, write to the email address and have it
posted right away on your blog?
What got me interested is this link:

(careful, the page is a bit dated)
Set up is really simple, although towards the end, they talk about
setting up ‘cron-jobs’ via a WordPress plugin.
Further investigating the plugin, it shows that it will not run on
WordPress versions 2.1+
Dang!
Currently running 2.2
Well…
if you’re running 2.2 and trying to post with Thunderbird, it won’t
work. Post title will show up, but not the content. Have to upgrade to
2.3 version of Wordpress
Here’s some additional information on bloggin by email from WordPress
http://codex.wordpress.org/Blog_by_Email
What I gained form that link is that simply placing the ‘iframe’ code
within the footer will automatically check your defined emails for blog
posting.
Ahhh … life of a midnight coder
Here goes … post post post!
