So you have completed working on your beloved new website and you feel relieved because it may be 3 in the morning and you’ve already had too much coffee and sleep is the last thing you want to do now. Right now you want to tell your friends, post it to your favorate forums, add it to Facebook and more.
But wait!!!!
Although it may look great in your browser, have you tested it in an alternative browser?
I’m been a loyal Microsoft Internet Explorer user. It works, I’ve become friendly with it, there’s nothing wrong with it, why change now?
Well, there areĀ a number of reasons to explore the alternatives, especially FireFox.
My little story …
I’ve been playing around with a new custom built script that run all to dandy in IE. To my surprise, everything was all out of alignment when I tested it our in FireFox.
Should I care?
Absolutely! Many hardcore developers (especially
designers) I talk to swear by FireFox, nothing but. They won’t touch anything else. Their theory is “if it doesn’t work in FireFox, then it doesn’t work at all”. They’re right.
Some of the items that I personally like within the browser are:
- Enhanced security
- Faster browsing - yes pages do load up quicker
- Excellent add-ons extensions, especially for web developers and SEO optimizers
- plus more.
Back to the drawing board for me to tweak my new site … then I’ll be able to sleep
